St Kitts-Nevis Passport Holders without Place of Birth Reminded to Apply for New Ones

May 30, 2017 - News

The Ministry of National Security of St Kitts and Nevis has reminded all holders of St Kitts and Nevis passports without the “Place of Birth” field that such passports have been deactivated and they must reapply for new ones by paying the required passport issuance fees.

Passports issued by the country between the years 2010 – 2014 excluded the “Place of Birth” data field. On December 10, 2014, all such passports were recalled for re-issue with the inclusion of these details and a notation on the passport observation page of any name changes, where applicable. At the time, the re-issue was at no additional cost to the holder.

This initiative continued through December 31, 2015, and was further officially extended until March 31, 2016.

In March 2017, the government announced that all passports without the “Place of Birth” data field would be deactivated and holders would in future be required to bear the costs for the re-issue of a new passport. These passports have since been cancelled and can no longer be used as a valid travel document.
